This plate was hand built and decorated using a sgraffito technique. This is when the clay is painted with underglaze and carved to reveal the base layer of colour. A transparent glaze was sprayed onto the design to ensure a professional finish and then I used my own glazes to cover the outer part of the plate. My makers mark is painted on the base.
Can be used for food items or as a decorative piece. It is microwave and dishwasher safe, although hand washing is advised.
