This collection embodies a love of glaze chemistry and a desire to create interesting, tactile surfaces. The viewer is invited to enjoy the pottery both visually and by touch, while often reminiscing about what the surface suggests to them.
This pot was hand thrown on a pottery wheel using stoneware clay. It has then been decorated with layers of slip and a reactive lichen glaze. The interior is coated with a black glossy glaze so it can hold liquids if desired.
