This vase was thrown on a pottery wheel and decorated using a masking technique and white crackle glaze. After the pot reached temperature, it was plunged into a bucket of combustible material to create the crackle glaze that raku pottery is renowned for.
Raku pottery is sculptural, therefore it cannot hold liquids.
